Canon targets RM250m from new printers – Business Times







Canon Marketing (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, the leader in printing solutions industry, is targeting sales of RM250 million for its new printer series this year.

“We are optimistic of achieving the sales target for Canon’s new printers this year and further enhance the brand’s leadership in inkjet printer market,” said Donny Ling, director of consumer system products division at a news conference here today.

Canon’s newly launched printers included laser printer (FAX-L170) and four inkjet printer models — PIXMA E600, PIXMA MX897, PIXMA MX517 and PIXMA MX377.

Ling said the new printers series aimed to address the small office/home office (SOHO) and small and medium enterprises (SMEs) market, to provide efficiency for any business operations, especially in a home office business environment.

“The printers launched today come with an easy operation design, faxing capabilities with fax security features as well as PIXMA Cloud Link capabilities that ensure efficiency and quality printing for all projects.

“In line with the government’s objective to transform Malaysia into a high- income country, Canon Malaysia is doing its part by assisting the SOHO and SMEs sector with the best equipment,” he said.

The new printers, with prices ranging from RM598 to RM1,188, are now available in the market. Meanwhile, Ling also said that Canon Malaysia is targeting sales of RM900 million for its products this year.

At present, Canon has a 59 per cent market share in inkjet all-in-one printer. — Bernama
